FAQs
Welcome to Warwick, NY!
We’re thrilled to introduce you to Mountain Lake Park, and the town of Warwick, NY. Warwick is known for its historic downtown, a vibrant arts scene, agriculture, a jazz festival, hiking trails, and picturesque orchards. For 54 years, the campus at Mountain Lake Park was the home of URJ Kutz Camp. Mountain Lake Park is now best known as the site where the movie Theater Camp was filmed, making it an iconic theater camp location!
For returning campers, we know the new space will feel new in some ways, while our program will also feel very familiar. We're excited for both new and returning campers to discover the beautiful location! If you have more questions about how the Ghostlight program will grow in this new location, we're always happy to chat more! You can schedule a call with us at this link.

Campers live in cabins on Ghostlight’s campus. Each cabin houses 12-16 campers and 2-3 counselors. Each cabin has a bathroom with three private stalls, three showers, and three sinks. Campers sleep in bunk beds. Cabins become the campers’ home away from home while they are at camp!

The town of Warwick is friendly and beautiful! There are many restaurants, cafes, and scenic walks, in nature and in town. And we’re particularly excited about the ice cream at the famous Bellvale Farms Creamery!

Some of the lakefront areas are open to the public for hiking and fishing from during specific daytime hours. The pickleball courts and pool area are membership-only. In the evening and overnight, the campus is closed to everyone except Ghostlight staff and campers.

Ghostlight takes security very seriously. When there are non-Ghostlight members using some of the campus facilities, such as the pool or pickleball courts, there are always staff from Mountain Lake Park present to support. The Mountain Lake Park campus has security measures in place, such as 24/7 camera coverage, secure gates, and a regular patrol from local law enforcement, that will support our work keeping the campus safe. Several other programs have also run in the past few summers at Mountain Lake Park, and the Mountain Lake Park staff have communicated with us about how they’ve successfully supported those programs.

The lake is not open for our campers to swim in.
-
The Lakeside Pavilion is a large covered outdoor performance space: a beautiful stage, airy high ceiling, and open to the lake. We can’t wait to perform there!
-
Each session, Ghostlight’s oldest campers create a beautiful plaque celebrating the shows that were performed that session. This beloved tradition has become a favorite part of the Ghostlight dining hall, as campers love reminiscing and enjoying the plaques. They’ll be hung in a prominent place in our new dining hall!
