Dear Greeting,

Happy new year to you and All camper first names! Writing today with some exciting news from Ghostlight...

😍 Show Announcements!

With a score by Broadway legends Kander & Ebb (Cabaret, Kiss of the Spider Woman) full of tunes like "All That Jazz" and "Cell Block Tango", Chicago is the longest-running American Broadway musical! Ghostlight's production will celebrate the hustle, drive, and self-invention that have made this show a classic. Get ready to shimmy into the sequined, spangled, killer-diller Roaring Twenties!

Nancy Drew — amateur detective, full-time hero! Featuring a new adaptation by Ghostlight's own Monica Flory, Nancy Drew will meet a host of curious characters and suspicious nemeses, saving the day with a bit of pluck, luck, and friendship. In this fast-paced, ensemble-driven comedy with heart, Nancy Drew and friends are on the case!

The Emerging Artists will be performing...

Adapted for young performers, and with a score by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe (Mary Poppins), Honk! JR. is a heartwarming celebration of being different that is sure to delight audiences of all ages with its sparkling wit, unique charm and memorable score. Ugly looks quite a bit different from his darling duckling brothers and sisters, but soon finds himself on an adventure of self-discovery and finds out being different is not a bad thing to be!

Emerging Artists will work together with their director and counselors to create an ensemble-based production of Honk! JR., and every camper will have a chance to shine in their role. EAs will also take part in creating the joyful world of this beloved fable by learning about scenic, costumes, and props design. In addition to working on their production, EAs take part in elective classes and exciting evening activities each day!

And we've already announced two exciting musicals:

Adapted from the novel by Roald Dahl, Matilda The Musical is the inspiring story of a girl who dreams of a better life. She's unloved by her cruel parents, but impresses her teacher Miss Honey. The two forge a bond as Miss Honey begins to recognize and appreciate Matilda's extraordinary personality. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, but Matilda's courage and cleverness could be the school pupils' saving grace!

In this musical set in the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as "The Bard." When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. Something Rotten features a wacky cast of over-the-top characters, each with their own moment to shine.
