📋 Forms Reminder!
If you have not completed all of your required forms and pre-camp training, please do so ASAP this week so we can prepare for your arrival. You will receive reminder emails from Alexa or Spencer if you have any outstanding items — please be sure to read those emails and follow up on any incomplete forms.
🪩 Staff Showcase
Hello! I'm Liz and I'll be your Activities and Trips Coordinator at Ghostlight this summer! This will be my 4th summer at Ghostlight and I am so excited to work with all of you. Our activities and special events are part of what make our campers' experiences so magical, and we will need your help in facilitating this magic! One of our first evening programs is our Staff Showcase. This tradition serves as an opportunity for us to introduce ourselves by showing off some of the wide range of talent at camp, and most importantly, shows our campers how great it is to have fun and be themselves onstage. They love seeing their counselors, directors, teachers, designers, and all the staff in between up on that stage, so I encourage you to sign up using the google form here! See you in Maine!
📋 Staff Training
Full staff training will begin on Saturday 6/21 with lifeguards, show teams, and production teams arriving earlier to begin their training and pre-production.
During full staff training, we'll spend time covering topics including emergency procedures and safety at camp, supporting campers social and emotional health, and mediating conflict. We'll also spend time going over camp schedules and logistics, getting camp ready for arrivals, and having fun as a staff! To prepare for staff training, we recommend:
- Set Your Clocks — Specifically, your body clocks. We have breakfast each day at 8am, lunch at 12:15pm, and dinner at 6pm. This schedule can be very different for many of us, and it's not a bad idea to start getting your body and mind adjusted by starting to try this schedule out for yourself at home.
- Get Away From Your Screen — We ask folks to keep phones away in meals and in classes unless specifically being used for a camp purpose. Before arriving, we recommend starting to adjust to not using your phone as frequently as you do in your daily life outside camp.
- Set Your Away Message — Let family and friends know how they can reach you! Our campers receive snail mail and many staff like to as well. Mail and packages can be sent to 7 Camp Eastwood Circle, Oakland, ME 04963 beginning 6/16.
