Why "Ensemble Theater Camp"
Over the years, a word that has become cemented in our story is “ensemble.” The word itself comes from the idea of taking the individual parts as a whole, looking at what is created from the coming together of disparate elements. Historically, those in the spotlight have been the most celebrated. But at camp, we encourage campers and audiences to view success not as moments alone onstage, but rather as the moments that shine because of the work done together.
The experience of making and experiencing
ensemble-driven theater is a catalyst for
change and growth back home as well.
We approach our theater classes and theater production through this lens of community. We do this by focusing on three principal aspects of each camper’s experience at camp.
Self-Expression – We begin by seeing and affirming every camper’s individuality. Campers who believe in themselves, and feel that others believe in them, are the cornerstones of our camp community.
