🧳 Shipping Luggage
If your camper is flying to camp this summer or you are otherwise interested in shipping luggage to camp, we recommend using Ship Camps. Ghostlight is a Ship Camps partner which means you get the best rate when shipping luggage to or from camp. If you mail luggage, it'll be waiting for your camper in their cabin when they arrive. Learn more here about mailing luggage via Ship Camps.
💊 Medication At Camp
Please be sure to view the information about CampMeds, the required* service we use at Ghostlight to deliver medication in the safest and most efficient way. Please note that there are enrollment deadlines for CampMeds with corresponding fees. We recommend beginning the registration process as soon as possible and completing by March 1 for the lowest rate. This fee goes directly to CampMeds to cover packaging and shipping medications. Perscriptions are not required at the time of registration but must be submitted 30 days prior to the start of camp.
*There are a small number of exceptions to this requirement; please review the attached PDF for details.
👋 Leadership Introduction: Monica Flory
Meet Monica! Monica is a director, educator, and playwright who lives in Philadelphia with her family when she's not at camp. Monica holds a Master's Degree in Educational Theater from NYU and a BA in Acting and Directing from Oberlin College. During the year, she directs in theaters and schools, and her plays have been produced around the world. Read below to learn more about Monica:
First Year at Ghostlight: In 2004(!!!), I was a cabin counselor in the one(!!!) female-identifying cabin.
First Show I directed at Ghostlight: Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet) by Ann-Marie MacDonald in 2008. It had, among other joys, some thrilling swordfights.
Things I'm Looking Forward to This Summer: audition day (always!), beautiful clouds and sunsets, Tea Time with the early-rising campers, and guitar music at our campfires
A Peak Theater Moment: weeping through the end of Mary Zimmerman's Metamorphoses or the musical Once on This Island - any time someone turns into a tree at the end of a show, I'm so happy
A Perfect Snack: a pumpkin muffin with tea (always tea, though I will enjoy the smell of your coffee very much)
