Dear Ghostlight Families,
There are less than three weeks until the start of Session 1 and only a few weeks more until Session 2, and we can't wait for an incredible summer with your camper!
This message includes information about arrival days, including transportation and drop-offs, themes for our camp dances, and communication. Please let us know if you or your camper(s) have any questions. If you'd like to schedule a pre-camp call to connect with a camp director, please respond back here — we'd love to speak with you and answer any questions you have.
I hope that your family is having a great end to the school year — we're looking forward to seeing all the campers soon!

🚗 ✈️ Arrival Days
We look forward to welcoming our campers on June 28 (Session 1) and July 21 (Session 2)!
Arriving by Car:
- Families arriving to camp by car can now schedule an arrival time slot here.
- If you have already been in touch about your preferred arrival time slot, you'll receive a confirmation of that time today.
Arriving by Plane:
- Families with campers arriving on the Session 1 chaperoned flight or arriving on their own flight for Session 1 or Session 2 will receive more information prior to their arrival days. This will include pickup timing and chaperone contact information.
What to Expect:
- Upon arrival, campers will be greeted by our staff!
- We'll assist with bringing luggage to the cabins with our golf cart, and your camper will get a name tag and do a quick lice check.
- Next, campers will stop by the Health Center for a check in with our nurses.
- Campers will then make their way to their cabins to meet their counselors and cabinmates and begin settling in and unpacking.
- Families driving to camp are welcome to take a tour of camp with their camper's counselors.
- Families of campers flying to camp will receive a call from a Camp Director to let you know your camper has arrived and to answer any questions.
- Campers will eat dinner with their cabins and attend an exciting opening ceremony before having some more time to unpack.
- Our staff are excellent at supporting campers during the transition to camp — they will be available to help any campers feeling nervous or homesick and to begin building community within our cabins.
🪩 Camp Dances
Each evening, our campers participate in an exciting activity as a full camp community. Each session, there will be a camp dance, and we're sharing the themes with you if your camper would like to bring any costume items. Dances at Ghostlight are fun and low-key — there's no pressure to wear a certain thing, purchase any costumes/accessories, or invite someone to the dance. Dances are all about being together for a festive evening! The themes are Session 1: Spooky Rodeo and Session 2: Disco Fairytale!
💌 Communication at Camp
🏠 From Home to Camp
1. Snail Mail — You can send your camper letters, postcards, or packages at Ghostlight. Please do not send any food! You will receive an email on arrival day with your camper's cabin name.
Camper Name - Cabin
Ghostlight Theater Camp
7 Camp Eastwood Cir
Oakland, ME 04963
2. Email — Emailing your camper is done through your Family Dashboard. You can also set up family and friends with access to email your camper. See the attached document for instructions.
3. Connect with a Director — We are grateful for the trust you have placed in us to provide your camper with a safe and joyful summer. Please do not hesitate to email or call with any questions or concerns you have while your camper is at Ghostlight. The best way to get in touch with a Camp Director is by calling our camp phone number at (207) 358-0641 or by emailing info@ghostlighttheatercamp.com — you'll usually be in contact with Alexa or Spencer.
⛺️ From Camp to Home
1. Snail Mail — Snail mail is our favorite for camper's communication home. There is nothing better than a thoughtful missive outlining some of the excitement from the last few days. Campers can easily send mail from our office. Remember to pack stationery and stamps for your camper. We recommend pre-addressing envelopes for letters home and packing a small address book with friends' and relatives' addresses.
2. Email — We know sometimes the news from camp is too exciting to wait a few days to share. Campers will each be given a few emails each week to send through our office. We will scan these handwritten notes and then send to you as a PDF within 24 hours.
Like a physical address, campers will be responsible for knowing the email address of the party to whom they send an email. If their friend or family member is registered in Camp Today on the Family Dashboard (see instructions attached), the office can look up and send to those addresses.
